Overview


  • The role is responsible to lead the quality assurance agenda and ensure the compliance to applicable PepsiCo IPS standards in manufacturing at Sundar, MGF & Agro.
  • The role is also responsible to manage the manufacturing/ make related product quality KPIs and coordinate effectively with other associated functions to align and execute action plan for improvement.
  • Assess the processes and products for risks of QA and food safety or food defense and take immediate action (corrective / preventive) to eliminate risk. Hold any product or process observed with QA and/ or food safety risk.

Responsibilities

  • Implement PepsiCo product monitoring protocols at Sundar, MGF & Agro through effective engagement and development Q& FS Team.
  • Lead the capability development agenda for product quality assurance program and ensure training and development plans for teams of both sites.
  • Develop product quality improvement roadmap through evaluation of trade quality insight and lead the development and execution of collaborative action plan for improvement
  • Ensure development and compliance of MOH for plant quality program and develop CAPEX based projects aligned with sector to derive harmonized quality standard
  • Lead and strengthen the implementation of IPS programs through internal audits, frequent gap analysis exercises and engagement of cross functional teams
  • Monitor the compliance to plant quality KPIs against AOP and develop action plan for improvement
  • Manage the compliance of planned trainings related to Quality and ensure training man hours planned as per AOP
  • To plan, develop, implement and manage PepsiCo’s Snacks Quality and Food Safety program throughout the business chain.
  • Implementation of food safety and food defense program and AIB standards at Sundar& MGF.
  • Implementation of Market sampling and evaluation of product on-shelf, Frito-Lay Challenge and market complaints handling program.
  • Develop each segment of business (agro, procurement, manufacturing, warehousing & logistics, distributor handling, trade handling) on Quality assurance and food safety program through effective trainings and involvement of teams.
  • Ensure implementation of local as well as Sector initiatives and agendas towards development of quality assurance and food safety programs in the business at both sites.
  • Ensure that both sites are maintained in a clean and hygienic manner all the time through execution and compliance of PepsiCo Food Safety standards and AIB guidelines
  • Lead in implementation of FSS 22000 program, PepsiCo Food Defense guidelines and crises management program
  • Align PepsiCo Food Safety standard compliance on weekly boil outs, line sanitations and allergen changeovers through participation, inspection and testing (soap test, ATP)
  • Lead the Agro Quality Assurance agenda and manage the compliance to applicable PepsiCo Agricultural standards in procurement, handling, transportation and storage of Agri raw materials.
  • Manage the agro product quality and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders (Agro, Production, Farmers and storages) to align and execute action plan for improvement.
  • Partner with Agro Best Practices Manager and Agro Commercial Manager to develop capability in terms of better forecast of situation in the field during different stages of crop to harvest and align action plan accordingly.
  • Manage periodic potato and corn quality health audits in storages, comprehensive sampling and testing through in-house or third party laboratories to assess the quality performance and ensure issuance of consumption plan.
  • Lead quality assurance agenda in agro footprint expansion agenda to develop new geographies through strategic planning and engaging farmers and farm managers and tracking potato performance to establish development milestones.
  • Lead the agro QA agenda with absolute compliance to Global Control Standards (GCS) and ensure to align the Agro QA activities and processes accordingly.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skill
  • Master/ Bachelor Degree in Food Technology/ or equivalent
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Food processing, handling and storage
  • Good knowledge of material testing and quality assessment
